National Museum of the Congo, Kinshasa
Fantastic drive up into the Parc Presidential, in the hills above Kinshasa today. Unfortunately the museum was closed due to a power cut though, so we couldn't go in. Power cuts are a common problem here; only 10% of Kinshasa has a steady electricity supply, in a city of around 8 million people. Yet the city sits alongside the mighty Congo River, which, if a series of dams are built, could generate enough hydro-electricity to power the whole of central Africa.
