One awesome piece of rock. About as rugged as they come. NW Wyoming. Taken from the top of Grand Targhee Ski Area. The small outline of the ski tracks at the bottom couldn't be seen with the naked eye. Had I known they were there, would have made them more prominent. The foreground white area is NOT HDR - that's the way that back country looks from the ski area summit. Got lucky with a cloudless sky because locals said there's usually a high percentage of overcast days. Took it with an 8mp Olympus DLSR, but the Olympus lenses (here I used a 50-200 zoom) are really good. Flichr said taken Jan 8th (as did my "camera properties") but really was Dec. 28th or 29th, 2009.

Taken about 5 miles east of Boulder, CO.

This is Colorado's tallest waterfall at about 360'. That white building atop the cliff is a powerplant built in 1891, providing the first alternating current in the entire U.S. But now electric lines from outside provide cheaper electricity.

Mt. Sneffels is a 14,000' mountain in SW Colorado.

It was a foggy morn about 25 miles SW of Denver in Roxborough State Park. I believe most of these sedimentary rocks are in the state park, while the Arrowhead Golf Course is public. The rocks tower over the course about 400' at about an 80 degree angle. The colored poles are an irons-only driving range at the golf course.
