Polemaster at work

Polemaster at work

During the second last run I was making jump turns on what turned out to be thinly covered heather and small trees. During a turn my pole broke through the snowcover and went deep into the branches at the same time I was moving downward on the slope. I was not able to quickly pull out the planted pole and the result was a broken one.

I spent 15 minutes that evening shaping a piece of wood I found in the cabin, added a spare snow basket, and ended up with a brand new "hybrid" pole. The repair worked quite well the next day, I forgot all about it. Unfortunately two days later I broke it on the ski-out.
