Voladores de Papantla / Papantla Flyers Hace muchos siglos, hubo gran escasez de agua y alimentos en el mundo (algo parecido a lo que sucede justo ahora, pero en nuestra época los especuladores y el acaparamiento son los responsables) y cinco hombres salieron a clamar por ayuda al dios Xipe-Totec, dios de la fertilidad y la buena cosecha. Many centuries ago, there was big scarcity of water and food in the world (something similar to what happens just now, but in our epoch it happens through the fault of the speculators and the profiteering) and five men went out to cry out for help to the god Xipe-Totec, god of the fertility and the good crop. The whole night the men fasted concerning the biggest and perfect tree that they found. Then they blessed the tree and took it to they village.
