Laserman by ☮ jason braun

Laserman

Yes. It's true. I can shoot blue lasers from my hands.

Setup: First you need to find a street where Muni passes right by the sidewalk. The next challenge is telling the Muni driver that you aren't interested in boarding, because twice they stopped to let me in (most the drivers are actually pretty dang cool) and I had to waive them by. Waiving them on while trying to do a 2 second exposure doesn't work very well. You also might have to deal with the homeless people walking the tracks heckling you for change. You know you have extra nickels and dimes on your kitchen counter, so just grab a few and doll them out, its not going to kill you. Finally, you need to time the shot so it fires right as the train is passing you. Oh and one more thing that makes a _big_ difference... luck. :)

The Lineup: Bay Bridge Diamond by ☮ jason braun

The Lineup: Bay Bridge Diamond

Bay Bridge - San Francisco, California

View On Black

I was turned onto the idea of this by my friend Chris who directed me to this site www.weathersealed.com/2009/11/30/the-lineup-bay-bridge-di..., I had no idea what I was in for. I arrived around 4:20pm, and setup near the end of Harrison St, right outside the Waterbar on the Embarcadero. I expected more people to be there, but to my surprise there was only one other photographer, nice guy, so we waited. Around 4:35pm I got anxious and was walking back and forth to make sure I didn't miss the moon behind a pillar or Treasure Island. Then, at 4:40pm she rose in all her glory, only one problem, my alignment was way way off. As it turned out I had to run about 2 blocks (tripod, 80-200mm, bag and all as fast as I could). I could not believe how little time you have to take this shot, we're talking about less than one minute and its over. I'm not sure if the other guy got any shots, he arrived 30 seconds after me. Anyway, fun stuff.
