I set these tulips right in the light of the setting sun. I love seeing how the light has shifted with the changing of the season. Something I've never really taken notice of prior to this year.

I love brightly colored and unique dishtowels and was so happy to find an email yesterday morning from Crate and Barrel touting their new line. www.crateandbarrel.com/kitchen-and-food/dishtowels/cannin...
It was fate or just plain luck that we were planning on a trip to West Hartford yesterday so I was able to pick up these beauties. I love to infuse my home with just a little bit of spring early on (very early on) in the season.

For this photo shoot I ironed my dishtowels for definitely the first and most likely the last time in my life. Also, I used an off camera indirect flash.

My husband had the day off and both kids had commitments that didn't involve the two of us so we had an entire day together. That rarely happens, perhaps once a year if we are lucky. Our day together included lunch at Umi Sushi & Tapas in West Hartford, CT. The food is circulated around the restaurant via a conveyor belt and you pick and choose what looks good. Your bill is totaled by the number of dishes you've accumulated. They count on you eating too much which we did!

It works out pretty well most of the time... our two oldest are the same age, our youngest are the same age and our dogs are a year apart. Everyone has a playmate!
