Palacio San Martín

Though the guard wasn't about to let us through the gate, I was able to get a few shots when he stepped to the side of the doorway.

There were actually quite a few lion sculptures in the cemetery - apparently they were thought to be good companions for the dead!

The tomb of Liliana Crociati de Szaszak is adorned with a life-size statue of the girl and her dog. Liliana was at a ski resort for her honeymoon at the age of 26 when an avalanche struck the hotel and killed her. The statue of Liliana in her wedding dress was created first, and the canine companion was added later when her dog died.

This man sits atop the tomb for the family of Francisco Gomez. Near the base of the tomb is a much more frequently-photographed statue of a sleeping boy angel. I didn't even notice the angel when I was there and only discovered how popular a subject he was when I was scouring the internet trying to identify which tomb my shot had come from!
