SBS Tomb NOLA
Fr. Jeffery Ott of Xavier University Campus Ministry leads a gathering in prayer during a visit to the tomb of the "Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament for Indian and Colored People" in St. Louis Cemetery #3. A pilgrimmage conducted by the XU alumni association (represented by Brendolyn McKenna) visited N.O. sites influenced by St. Katherine Drexel. Herself, buried at the SBS motherhouse in Bensalem, PA, Mother Katherine founded the SBS order (at left: Sr. Maureen, St. Nathalie, Sr. Pat), as well as Xavier University and several secondary schools (including Xavier Prep) in southwest U.S. Creditline: Photo by Irving Johnson III (with permission to New Orleans Cemeteries group @ flickr.com) Note: Fr. Jeff (a Xavier grad) left XU after the Spr. 2010 semester - he was reassigned to a parish in Atlanta that was acutally start funded by Mother Katherine Drexel.
