Another of the many shots that I was able to make Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
This shot immediately draws your eye to the orb, but if you look close at the sky you will notice some bands of greenish purplish color.
The color in the sky is what is called "airglow". This is light emission from the upper atmosphere. I first encountered this in my photos of the night sky when I was shooting the Milky Way along the Illinois River in Southern Oregon.
The airglow that I captured is a suitable replacement for the Northern Lights that were supposed to show that night I suppose.
The orb was spun by my friend Ted. We had a good time playing making these images.
