NOT "Traills" Flycatcher 4-20120919

I believed this to be an Alder Flycatcher. Its small size, lack of crest, relatively large eyes and short wings distinguish it from Wood-Pewee. Sharp eye ring, very prominent wing bars and contrasting white edges on tertials suggest Alder (see additional images below). It appears that I stand corrected-- that what the experts are for! Got out for the first time since returning to our South Florida home. Images from morning walk in the nearby West Miramar wetlands. Visit
