Eagle Carrying Grass 20090219

The eagle brought the grass directly to the nest and then was busy arranging it inside the nest cup. Bald Eagles commonly add to the nest, bringing in grasses and sticks. The chicks were seen throwing sticks out of the nest! I have seen this behavior in Great Horned Owls; the chicks may dismantle the nest entirely before they leave the nest tree. Visit
