The Worlds largest Musical Instrument Ever Constructed. The Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall Pipe Organ. |
These images show some parts of the
massive Midmer Losh Pipe Organ in
Atlantic City`s Boardwalk Hall. It is
the worlds largest and loudest musical
instrument ever constructed.
The instrument contains over 33,000
pipes, each one is a note, not one of
them sounding the same .There sizes
range from less than 1 inch in length,
to over 64ft tall.
It was built between 1929 and 1932 by a
team of 80 men who were employed by the
Midmer- Losh organ building firm
throughout the great depression.
The organ is a monument to Midmer -
Losh, the late Senator Emerson Richards,
engineering and organ building .
It is a world treasure, there is no
instrument larger than this. It
currently is in desparate need of a
restoration due to past lack of care and
neglect.
To help save the instrument please

here you can buy recordings and DVD`s
of the instrument and books describing
