The Rake Cycle Climb - 10 October 2010 - Ramsbottom

The Rake Cycle Climb has been taking place in Ramsbottom for over 60 years with categories for seniors, juniors, women and veterans.
The race is 947 yards long and competitors will receive a prize of £300 if they break a record. The Lancashire Road Club have asked for the race to run as a British Championship from 2012.
Huge crowds are expected to line the course, which have twice been used for the National Hill-Climb Championship. The race will start outside the library and finish at Exeter Cottage - roads will closed for this special event.
The Mayor of Bury will present prizes at The Shoulder of Mutton after the race, which has been sponsored by Bury Metro. Lepps Jewellers are also sponsoring the event and have donated a Rolex watch as a prize.
