Today I was contacted by a lovely girl called Brenda, who told me
about her friend John who is ill in hospital right now with a
condition called AVM. She explained that AVM is when there is an
abnormal connection between arteries and veins in his brain, it's
pretty serious and that he needs surgery over the next few days. She
said he'd been having a rough time, and asked if I could take a
picture with a sign saying hello for him as he likes my pictures and
would cheer him up.
When I think of the people who like my work and look at my flickr, I guess the people I think of are around my age and are all interested in photography, maybe at school, maybe finishing, different types of people interested in different things. I never really thought that there might be someone out there going through something like that, and it really puts life into perspective and I feel like I owe a lot to these people. So this picture is for John Daniels in Nebraska, and I hope you are feeling better soon and everyone here is sending you big hugs!
SO I also thought it would be nice for him to read some nice stories from all you guys on flickr - so tell me something about you that you've been through and that people wouldn't know at first just looking at you, and how you got through it.
And thanks to Brenda for letting me know :)
