The Zamuro Negro (Coragyps atratus) is one of the American buzzards and even though it can be found pretty much throughout the whole continent, it's more commonly seen in Central and South America. It's a carrion bird, usually feeding on small dead animals and garbage (thanks to civilization, of course). It's one of the largest birds in Venezuela, with a wingspan of almost 5ft and a body that measures close to 2.5ft and weighs almost 45lb. It is estimated to live up to 30 years -- this is my 500th photo in flickr
