It was part of a sort of party on the London underground to mark a ban on drinking on public transport. Fortunately I escaped unscathed. :)

I think there is something to be said for the idea that you encourage people to do something by forbidding it. before last night I have never seen drinking on tube causing problems, and even if it did the ban will not stop people from actually being drunk on public transport. The law seems to imply that people get on the tube stone cold sober and become completely wasted within the half hour it takes them to get to central London.
