I have a friend who is big-time into scrap
booking and has a nice little collection of
punches. We were visiting recently and we
raided her collection, cutting one of each
shape on a piece of scrap book paper she let
me have. I hadn't gotten around to doing anything with
them yet, now I'm glad I didn't! Your idea is
brilliant, and now I should have my little
cupid and hearts and everything else all
ready and waiting their turn at photography
magic in no time! Thanks for sharing this! Seen on DIY Photography!
I'm really overwhelmed by this amount of
comments, and I feel very happy, that I can
give back some inspiration to that community,
that makes me do funny things with my camera!
By the way, punchers aren't that expensive,
just borrow them from a friend ; ). But for real artsy shapes, you really
need a scalpel.
a lot of times you can 'test out' these
little punches at craft stores. (if not,
just open the box up and do it anyway. trust
me, people do it ALL the time.) so as long
as you plan ahead, you shouldn't have to buy
any of them! :)
Try your local sign shop they can cut any
shape or size for you. I do signs and
photography and have cut my own shapes out of
black sign vinyl and applied it to clear film
it worked great I'll try to post the photos
soon as I'm trying to be more active on
flickr :)

Klasse Bastelarbeit! Hab mir gerade etwas ähnliches gebaut, bin aber nicht auf die schlaue Idee der verschiebbaren Leiste gekommen...

Nice one, it's looking similar to mine ;)
Now searching for a better material to get sharper edges and better lifespan.

Punchers are too expensive. Better to draw then cut using blades.

Nice way of keeping all the shapes in one place. A good use of the Tschibo punchers I got for the kids before Christmas :-)

We actually have some of these little punchers at my work, so I do my tinkering there...

Do you have directions on how to make this, they weren't clear on DIY and mine came out pretty crappy...

hi there you can get small craft punches from the likes of craft world and there only £1.50 -£4 depending on size
QueenChatty (30 months ago | reply)
What size craft punch do you need for say a 50mm lens or 60 macro?
I have a set of punches that are very small, just wondering if they will work.
