Golden Light's Caress

Golden Light's Caress

This is a photo I took last year at Treasure Island beach in Laguna Beach.
Nikon D300S
105mm, f/3.2, 1/400 sec, ISO 200
Nikon 105mm Macro

I used my Nikon 105mm Macro lens to get as much close detail I could while still getting that beautiful golden light! I recently found this photo while going through some older photo folders. This is the exact reason I do that. Sometimes you miss some great pics. It is always good to peruse one's photo library from time to time.

Merry Christmas Flickr friends!

Schwabachers Landing

Sigma 10-20mm @ 10mm

This is an older shot of mine that I have re-edited. I am going through my old Wyoming photos and re-editing them for my website. This shot was actually taken on June 23rd, 2008.

I am actually not a huge fan of this view of the Tetons from a photographic point of view. For some reason the awesomeness of this spot just cannot be captured on camera. Not even by those much better than me. But this spot is amazingly tranquil and full of activity at the same time. I often see Beavers swimming around and Moose drinking from the water here. It is a great spot to sit down, relax and just take in the scenery.

L.A. Train Tracks

L.A. Train Tracks

Nikon D300S
10mm, f/6.3, 30 sec, ISO 200
Sigma 10-20mm @ 10mm

I have been aching to shoot more of Downtown L.A. recently and my buddy Rich and his brother Kory were in downtown last Saturday night and wanting to shoot. So we met up and Rich took me to one of his secret photo spots. I can't tell you much about it other than it was shady but full of character. We managed to get some pretty cool photos and this was probably my favorite of the night! I have been editing a lot of B&W's lately. I think I am going through a B&W phase.

Disney Concert Hall

Disney Concert Hall

Nikon D300S
10mm, f/18, 30 sec, ISO 200
Sigma 10-20mm @ 10mm

My buddy Hector and I had not been to Downtown Los Angeles to shoot for a long time. As it is easily one of our favorite places to shoot we decided to roll out one night and see what we could capture. We focused mainly on the Disney Concert hall and found there are just tons of angles and places to shoot. It was a blast. I felt pretty rusty as I have not been able to shoot really for some time. My company has had me working nights and summer in Southern California is not conducive to good photography. That being said it was nice to go out and shoot again! I really miss it and hope to be able to go out and shoot a good sunset sometime soon!

This is a tighter crop shot of the same scene as the previous photo in my stream.

On a side note, I would just like to thank all of my friends and followers here on flickr for sticking with me and commenting on my photos. I know I have been kind of "off and on" lately and have not commented on anyone's streams as much as I would like to do. Things have been a bit stressful and busy lately. My girlfriend and I (and our dog) recently moved to a new place and before that we were busy looking. At the same time, the company I work for decided they needed me in another position, which means I have been working a lot of nights and have very little time to do much shooting or editing, let alone enjoying everyones photos here on flickr. These things that have happened lately are ultimately good things, but for a while it was a bit hectic. I will try to be more diligent and make more time, not only to post pictures, but to visit as many photo streams as possible. Hope everyone is doing well.
