week fifty two
that girl right there
will make it on her own
so this is it, the end of a project that has lasted for a whole year.
during the past fifty two weeks, I believe I have come closer to the
person I am supposed to be. when I started this project, I was afraid
of what would come next and at the same time I wanted to remember
every single moment of it.
my last year of school began and I have never been as stressed before.
I have never slept as little before and I have never wanted to give up
as many times before. when I look back now, I see all I have been
feeling in the pictures I took for every week of that year. I see
despair and loneliness, but at the same time joy and feeling safe.
during the first thirty weeks school took over my life and I hardly
had time for anything else. but at some point, I had survived my
a-levels and the stress was over for at least a bit. I could finally
spend time with friends again and relax, only to get drawn back by new
exams and tests a few weeks later. a last stressful phase began and in
week forty one, everything was over. everything I feared when I
started this project was suddenly over and I was the happiest I have
ever been. I could finally concentrate on other things, I made new
friends, and although there have been bad and unproductive days too,
this summer was the best one I ever had.
and now I am almost where I have been last year: I am afraid. afraid
of what the future will bring. afraid of letting go everything that
was, afraid of things changing and friends leaving. but there is this
little difference. I have learned a lot during the past year and I
believe that this project has helped me appreciate everything I have
and that is what makes accepting changes easier for me now.
in some respects I know exactly what I want, and then again I have no
idea whatsoever. and that is okay as it is.
the past year also made me realize where I want to go with my photos.
I have started to take film photos and I took a picture a day for one
hundred days of my summer. all that, and most of all the photos I took
for this project, made me realize that I want them to be memories.
when I look at all the pictures I’ve taken during the past fifty two
weeks, I see that I have done something right. because they make me
feel and they mean the world to me. and that is all I wanted to
achieve when I started this project.
I hope at least some of them also mean something to all of you guys
out there who are viewing and commenting and favouriting my photos.
and I just want to say thank you for always being here and looking at
what I wanted to express. thank you so very much.
right now I don’t know what will come next, but I know that I have a
whole new life ahead of me.
and I know that I want to develop. I want to change. I want to make it
on my own.

Rona, congratulations on completely your 52 weeks project. I know some weeks you were busier then all get out, but you still made an effort to take amazing pictures, and you succeeded. You're an inspiration to a lot of us, and you're photo's constant happy and joyful disposition never failed to put a smile on my face. Not only are you amazing at taking pictures you have a beautiful soul that shines through everything that you do. You go out of your way to be kind to everybody, and you're so incredibly sweet. You've blessed so many people, and inspired everybody else. I know everybody says this when peoples projects end, but don't stop taking pictures. You're quite the girl, and I know a lot of us can't wait to see where you're headed next. :)

Ich habe riesen Respekt vor jedem, der ein solches Projekt vollendet und so habe ich auch riesen Respekt vor dir, denn jedes deiner Fotos ist auf seine Art und Weise besonders und mir gefällt jedes Einzelne.
Ich würde hier jetzt gern noch viel viel mehr schreiben, aber ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht ganz, wie ich das in Worte fassen soll. ;)

Rona, when i found your stream i found one of the sweetest girls on this strange invention of flickr, and i also found an incredible photographer, who looking back has improved so much over the past year. just looking back through this project i can see the change in seasons as i see the change in you and your ability. you've come so far and even though i've never met you i'm so proud. also i'm so happy you started to take film photos because you have produced some of my favourite ever photos with your film camera. i think you are a fabulous photographer and the end of this project just confirms it, but i don't really want it to end rona, i adore the fact you produce a story every week (even if it is a tad late aha!). Just this photo is gorgeous too, i love how it seems you're writing in a diary to finish this year's diary of photos. it's wonderful and so are you, never forget that!

goodness. I had no idea you and I started our projects at nearly the same time and here, the day after my 365 is over, your 52 week project is over as well. you have come so far since you began and that is evident in every upload. you have grown and matured beautifully and you are a gorgeous girl, inside and out. your talent is unbelievable and there is something to be said of your brilliance and creativity. this picture is fucking amazing, seriously. okay, it's eight am here, and the first thing I did when I woke up was go check for this.
Rona, I remember when I first found your stream very very clearly. It was December 31, I believe, when you had a tribute to Anna Sweubdsafuslfn;a (I will never spell her name right). I remember thinking to myself, "Wow, this girl has such a great heart." and then I saw that all over again with Caiti's 365 ending, then Samantha's, then Katie's, then Joe's, the Jessie's just yesterday. I swear I was thinking you were the kindest person ever.
But not only are you so kind, but your photos just left me breathless. Every week, no matter where life took you, you always seemed to produce something so, so beautiful.
This is getting very long, but I just wanted to say congratulations, Rona, I am so, so proud of you, and this photos make my jaw drop.
