Spiral

Spiral by Roger Smith.
This snail shell was found near Starkville, Mississippi and is about 3/4 inch (~1.9 cm) in diameter at the opening.

This shell is a logarithmic spiral. Other logarithmic spirals found in nature include hurricanes and galaxies.

Best viewed in larger sizes.
