      Thanks for the comments, getthebubbles et al. My wife looked at me like I was crazy when I asked her to let me take some pictures of the dried beans before she put them in the crockpot. She still thinks I'm crazy, but she does like the result! :-)

      Who'd a thought beans could be so colorful. I'm guessing that's a kidney bean, the way it's shot looks quite red.
