Architect: Sir Denys Lasdun (1914-2001), building opened 1976. The National Theatre was one of his (Lasdun, Softley and Partners) later works: a magnificent example of high Modernism/Brutalism, which has been Grade II* listed. At the South Bank by Waterloo Bridge, London Borough of Lambeth.
