Great photo, I've only been in Sheffield 6 years but have never seen the Porter Brook so high as it was today !

That is a truly scary Rivelin. Excellent shot, Roger. I've lived in Sheffield most of the time since 1974 and I've never known the rivers be anything like this.

Great shot, shutter speed is spot on, you get the feeling of power as well as the movement

Like your choice of shutter speed, really gives the sense of how fast the water was rushing by. incredible capture!

I didn't have much choice when it came the shutter speed, because the lighting was so poor!

You could have gone longer, but that would have made the movement too silky and smooth and lost the power imho.

Don't be so modest, nice work.

went for a run up the valley last night and am surprised at little evident damage. Maybe it has been cleaned up? I was away for the flood. Hope the river it self is OK. What damage is caused to the ecosytem by such a flood ,apart from sewage run off, it must upset invertebrate life and thus all the rest?
