who am I? ...ask me who I was.

who am I? ...ask me who I was.

This is a different panoramic version of an earlier post. Near Louisiana, Missouri. I don't usually say this, but its best viewed large for better scale.

Old Times

Old Times

Found this combination of an old sulky rake against an old house. It seems to spark my imagination of both the rake and the window being used in the late 1800's. Actually being able to sit where they sat on the rake...endless bumpy hours behind a horse. The window...well its possible that a pie might have sat there to cool at one time.

Crossroads Schoolhouse

Crossroads Schoolhouse

James (Fotoroadtripr), and I took off on a three day adventure exploring Missouri's back roads. Several new finds, but never found the elusive Holy Grail. Plenty of challenging muddy roads, freindly people, and even bewildered country folk. There even was a fallen photographer with camera in hand....but not to worry though, the camera was alright. The winner for the friendliest farmer award goes out to a German immigrant who within 5 minutes supplied us with a firm handshake, permission, a plat map, phone number for more info, and a hearty, "Have fun!" to boot with no questions asked!

This is Crossroads Schoolhouse near a little place called Paw Paw (Yes, Paw Paw.) in Sullivan County, Missouri. I have only seen maybe three schools painted red.

Spring Hill Ranch

Spring Hill Ranch

The Spring Hill ranch is located in the Tall Grass Praire Preserve in Chase County, Kansas and has plenty to see on this property open for tours to the public. My wife went in and prowled the grounds.

Mc Artor House

Mc Artor House

This is also a first time post of this house right here in our county. Cartnal's owned it in 1878 and 1915. One of the last cemetries that I found in Clark County out of 138, was hidden here at the edge of the woods. It was a single stone leaning agianst a tree. Sarah Mc Artor died at 29 years old in 1866. The stone also tells, "Also 3 infant children." You can only imagine the grief that these old houses have witnessed.

I just realised that this is my 700th post.
