      Like most badges, this is lettering, not type. The difference is simply that these letters were made specifically for this badge (or a series of badges) not for a typeface which is a full alphabet of reproducible letters.

      But yes, it’s gorgeous lettering. And I'm still on a search for those who designed badges like these. They are anonymous because they were often lowly fellows on the car maker’s design team, not hired studios/designers.

      Horribly embarrassing to misspeak like that.
      My typography teachers (who of course taught lettering as well) would be disappointed in me.
