![]() The fabulous office building at 62 ul. Wspólna, Warsaw. Although very ordinary looking from the outside, the interior is a stunning open, circular courtyard, with several tiers of galleries topped with a massive concrete dome.

Please View Large On my first visit on the Thurday, Security were adamant that no photos were allowed. Having seen the beauty of the interior however I was determined to try and get some images. I returned on Sunday morning hoping for a different security guard, or better still, none at all. I got a bit of both, but unfortunately I woke the sleeping guard as I tried to tip-toe past him into the deserted building. Despite this rude awakening from his morning snooze, he was a bit more approachable and eventually allowed me to rattle off half a dozen shots. I would absolutely love to spend a couple of hours here with access to all the floors, a tripod, and the time to get the compositions correct, ie much better than this. I believe the building was designed in the 1950's by Marek Leykam as a thinly veiled protest at the Socialist Realist architectural dogma of the day. CommentsVirtualSanity
