The first in a long series of press tickets - we were writing reviews for various fanzines and music mags in Munich back then but mostly we were in it for the fun and music.
U.D.O. was never my cup of tea even if I can appreciate his work with Accept. Ozzy was already a beaten man in '89, throwing buckets of water on himself and on us during the show. The sound was great and Zakk Wylde was the guitar player that made Ozzy's shows special back then. Pure raw energy!

I went there to see Blue Öyster Cult. Was blown away by Steve Morse, who opened the evening alone on stage with a guitar stack and amazing chops. BÖC were great as usual although the venue didn't allow for a really intense show. Kansas left me with mixed feelings - Steve Morse played more solid than ever, the material was ok but Kerry Livgren jumped around as if he were on speed and pretty much ruined it for me.

Grausamer Abend mit einem extrem abgelutschen Fendrich. Selbst die Ansagen zwischen den Liedern waren Wort für Wort aus dem käuflich zu erwerbenden Programm abzulesen.

Extrem lustiger Abend mit einer der besten Live Bands Deutschlands. Irgendwann im Laufe des Abends war ich sogar zu einem Torwandschießen auf der Bühne und gewann eine Flasche Bier.

The "Mercenaries Of Metal" tour in support of their "Ram It Down" album - "Blood Red Skies" is one of my favorite songs to this day.
