The Runaway

almost got away
"Noooooo!!!! I don't want to go back to my stall! You can't make me!"
The Runaway by Rock and Racehorses.
An exciting scene on a muddy Saratoga morning. A Thoroughbred has grabbed the bit and won't stop for his rider (right) and the pony girl and her horse (left) have sprinted out to catch them. I was so impressed with the pony- he went from standing quietly to a flat-out gallop in seconds. No horses or riders were injured.

A great moment--especially happy no horse or rider was hurt. Such an adrenaline-filled sport thatt things are bound to go amiss now and then. To the horse: You go girl!

great shot- I love to watch the ponies go after the runaways...they always look like they know just what to do without any direction from the rider

Pretty amazing.... both your shot and the pony girl. I give her a lot of credit for great control of the situation. Nice for you to be at the right place and the right time to get that great shot. Have fun in Saratoga.

Ugh.. I hate when the exercise riders stand straight up. pulling back does nothing for a racehorse What he should have done was stayed at his normal position and pull down and bend his wrist towards him that turns the bit upright in the horse's mouth and that works better for a racehorse and standing up is so bad for their back with the micro fractures and all .. nice save though
