You'll Get 'Em Next Time
Ocean Colors, promising daughter of Kentucky Derby winning filly Winning Colors, finished last in the (very rainy!) Grade 3 Schuylerville Staes at Saratoga. When she came back, it looked like she tied up a bit. They cooled her with cold water and she walked comfortably back to the barn. Get 'em next time, girl!
Winning Colors died this year. Ocean Colors has a little brother who is the last foal of this great mare.

This was a real 'double take' for me. Thought it was one of those tinted black and whites! Love the tones, you've really caught the atmosphere - no mean feat taking good photos in these conditions, well done.

right about that time this summer, we were wondering if the sun would ever shine in saratoga ever again. it was ridiculous. a nice pic of a rather unhappy mare. and, given, the circumstances, who can blame her?

Nice shot of what was a rather disappointing day with her tying up.
Unless I'm mistaken she never has returned to racing. While did a couple of workouts at Churchill during this past meet in the fall she's been otherwise off the radar. I do hope she'll return in 2009.
