Steadfast Amid the Tumult
![]() This is a composite of 3 really long exposures of a rocky area of a river. The first 2 shots were around 3 minutes each, and I think the 3rd exposure was around 7 minutes. The 3rd exposure had great detail in the rock, but otherwise looked very flat and gray. The first 2 exposures were way too dark, but they both had really rich deep blues.
So, I layered them in Photoshop and masked around the rock and the highlights in the water, which are from the last exposure. I guess you could say that through selective masking, I sort of "painted" the highlights back in. I like the result. I'm usually more of a minimalist when it comes to editing, but sometimes I feel the need to overindulge in Photoshop :) Please take a moment to view this photo on black. Thank you!
