ready for the big bang - Shanghai

the week leading up to Chinese New Year temporary stalls are erected on most major streets selling fireworks. On the eve the fun starts soon after dark and slowly builds up to one of the most amazing sights you will ever see as midnight approaches. Fireworks are set off from every street, garden, car park in every corner of the city. The fun continues into the early hours of the morning and again for the following 3-4 days. For sure not one evil spirit will dare to remain in town for the start of the year. Xin Nian Hao
