Karin enjoys a game of Super Mario Bros. in the office/guest room. The shelves were made for me by a local bookcase maker. You can make out some 4AD poster tubes and an old 4AD calendar in the corner.

Thanks. The funny thing is I probably would have gone with hidden built-in shelves if I could have afforded it. I already had three of these four units from out previous house. As it turns out, I actually like the visual interest the open shelving adds to the room. If you're in the market for some basic media shelving, I can recommend that Bookcase store on Guadalupe, just south of the Triangle. The construction's not fancy, but it's solid and he'll make anything you want, and of course it can be stained or painted.

The windows do have sunshades on them. I purposely wanted somethng that didn't totally block the view, but did cut down on direct light (and a/c bills).

Wow... How many CDs are there? About 2000? If that's the case we're pretty much in the same league and I know how much of a pain it can be to find a good way to store all that stuff!

Yeah...I'd guess there's around 2000 CDs there, considering this photo is about a year old. Maybe about 2500 by now. I haven't counted them in a long time.
