Thinking outside the bulb ...
Explore #39
Not an original concept, both because it's been done tons of times by others in various forms and, even more so, because I did a series of these myself a couple years back,. But, since I recently shot this for a photo challenge and had nothing else to post today ... I figured 'what the heck'. :)
Completely dark room with no ambient light whatsoever, bulb sitting on a rubber grommet (on and surrounded by black foam core poster board), handheld LED key fob flashlight (torch) swirled around the bulb for approximately 5 seconds during a 25 second exposure (the rest of the time pure blackness).

African Lion showing why he's king of the jungle ... BIGGER gets you closer
Another from our visit to the Phoenix Zoo last week. I wish I could have got more of his eyes, but he never offered up a clean shot. I really like this "scowl" regardless and how the scars on his nose look ... evidence of a good battle and befitting the title "king of the jungle." In reality, he got up from where he'd been laying lazily, moved about 10-feet, circled a couple times (never looking up more than this), then laid back down. LOL.

On the prowl ...
Sumatran Tiger roaming the grasslands; see him BIGGER
Spent Friday -- Sophia's 2nd birthday! -- at the Phoenix Zoo with family. Terrible mid-morning light with overcast skies and considerable haze, so most shots relegated to 'snapshot" status. Even so, I managed to get a few keepers. More of this guy to come ...
