I have to state my views about image editing here. I absolutely do not believe that what a camera registers either on film or on pixels is “reality”. The camera is a mechanical device. It can only reproduce reality in a limited way. Editing an image aims at enhancing the perception of something. I do not edit my pictures to make them closer to reality, but I try to enhance some kind of quality that a particular image transmits. Or a feeling that I want to convey. This photo has been processed using HDR techniques. I think it actually makes the image closer to what I saw in the site than the original unedited shot did. In addition, it enhances the magic that truly existed.

I've been here, this is the house used as the baron's backyard in the movie "The Sound of Music" -- it truly was a breathtaking view.

Beautiful. Saw this and immediately knew it had to be Austria - I know The Sound of Music all too well :) Such a lovely setting.
