Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge

    Prev Next

Traditionally fishermen erected the bridge to Carrick-a-Rede island over a 23m-deep and 20m-wide chasm to check their salmon nets. Today visitors are drawn here to test their nerve! The brave are rewarded with stunning views of the North Antrim Coast and across the sea to Scotland - Click here for a 360 Degree View....

One problem some visitors forget about is that if you do manage to cross the bridge to the island then you must come back the same way. :-)

Well I'm glad you posted the photo so that I can see it now, because with my fear of heights, I will obviously not walk on that bridge. Nooooooo thanks! Way too scary.

      Beautiful place though.

I bet some people think twice about crossing on that.
In NZ they are called swing bridges for very good reasons!
