Stepping out to a surprise...i love this
![]() I stepped out of the room where we were staying at Surajgarh in Rajasthan and saw this - it was early evening and it had been raining off and on all day - so there was the window with all that color, sunlight pouring in through the window, reflections on the floor, and the heavy clouds out there...
This photo has notes. Move your mouse over the photo to see them.
This was in Surajgarh [meaning the fort of the sun], which is an old delapilated fort recently converted into a hotel - this si located in the region of Shekhawati in Rajasthan, known for its large mansions called havelis where each and every inch of available space on walls and ceilings has been covered with bright colorful frescos painted with vegetable and plant dyes.... Much of this is in disrepair now, although an equal amount has survived for close to two centuries now... Have a look at other photographs from Shekhawati and the colorful frescoes here (and oh, I know all about the tilt - I seem to have a tilted view of life in general - so be nice and please dont depress me more by mentioning it here - unless you want to point out a new tiltofilter or some such marvellous thingy :)) Commentsronrag
