If music be the food of love...

Krishna serenading his girlfriend Radha with his flute... it is said that when he started palying, the gopis or the women in the region would drop all that they were doing, even cooking and taking care of their babies and run towards him, drawn by the music...

This is one of the murals at the gold room of the Jhunjhunwala haveli - the living quarters of rich merhcants in Mandawa, in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. This whole area is known for its colorful and intricate frescos covering every inch of available space inside the havelis. Many of these mansions and the frescos inside are between a hundred and two hundred years old - although much of it is in ruins due to neglect, a lot of the art survives....
