On a recent trip to this amazing country, we were taken up into the mountains for a picnic, didn't quite expect a view as amazing as this one. Sadly only had my compact with me, which hardly captures the breaktaking view. It had everything!

So that's were you're been hiding I'd have never thought of looking there for you.Had to google it to find out were it is. Can you tell what the structure down to your left is it a dam cant see it clearly on google map

@ trickydicky, it was amazing! - There was a stunning gorge in the opposite direction, the photographs weren't so good of that though.
To the left there were some buildings and things, but I didn't get down there to see if there was a dam etc. Google maps doesn't have much detail does it!

@ Jim, not bad from the compact, yes a fair amount of post production to bring it alive and bring out the cliffs at the front from the shadows.
The compact couldn't really capture the gentle flow of the distant terrain.

Mmmmm, beautiful landscape. Looks like a painting; if you need Christmas present ideas print this one out (not too large a size though).
Is that river/lake glacial? It has that beautiful blue that you get around glaciers. Perhaps I should look on a map...
