Apocalypse

My first entry to the Photoshop Contest Pool

The horses represent the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse from the Biblical book of Revelation. In the narrative, the White Horse rides out first carrying a conqueror, followed by the Red carrying War, then the Black carrying Death, and last the Pale Green horse carrying Pestilence. In this depiction, no riders are shown, and the White Horse has just been called to ride...

I am trying to decide which image to enter in this week's contest. The one above, or this one:

      Achilles Triumphant

      Which one is better?

@Steph - I am always surprised how many people read (or attempt to read) Revelation without reading any other parts of the Bible! I would say it is nearly impossible to understand correctly without the guidance of the entire Bible. That's why it is always mis-interpreted and on the cover of tabloids like National Enquirer (see: "Nostradamus Predicts Revelation End-Times Scenario through Madonna's Psychic!")

      hehe

The greek letters and the white conqueror horse rearing up his ugly head is what makes this image perfect! I too had an idea of something like this but figured that I would step on someones toes. Thanks for this amazing image to fill the void in my head of what the Four horses of the Apocalypse would look like. Just so everyone knows revelation isn't the scary part of the bible. Try reading Dantes Inferno written by Enoch. These are parts of the bible that were'nt included because the kings, conquerors and rulers of the time thought that the people need not know about it. What a crock!! History has been hidden from all of us since the beginning. Our job as image interpreters is to dig deep enough to find the underbody of it all. What you will find if you dig, I believe, is that most of life (and the bible) is filled with ugly, rotten, sickening, sinful, regretful, deadly and wartorn lessons that we will never learn. Wake up everyone! Apocalypse is now!

Mr Sin: I agree with most of what you have to say - although once you arrive at the dark conclusion which summarizes the fallen state of man, you can then appreciate the4 gift of grace which is the salvation of Christ...my two cents.

Rich Man, I am writing on my blog this week about how apocalyptic views hurt our democracy in the US. I linked a post on from www.americansecularist.com to your very artistic image above - hope you don't mind - let me know if you do and I'll take it down.
