Mesquite Sand Dunes in Death Valley National Park

The first stop on my Big Trip was Death Valley National Park – specifically the Mesquite Sand Dunes right by Stovepipe Wells. Given that the high temperature was forecast to be 117 degrees, I hit the dunes early in the morning when it was only brutally hot and hadn’t yet turned homicidally hot. Even so, I was one of the few people foolish enough to be out there.
