Spending quite a bit of time visiting my father in the hospital this month so my camera hasn't seen much action yet in 2012 but we've planned to travel to Cuba for a week of sunshine and warmth later in the year so I need to get out with the camera soon to "practice" before that trip .

While in Toronto for Boxing Week, we enjoyed an evening of entertainment at the Medieval Times 'castle'. Light was rather dim for the most part so I upped the ISO to 1250 and higher and did my best to capture a few images as a reminder of the evening's entertainment. The meal was chicken and servings were large but I refrained from photographing the bones that were left at the end of the meal :-).

Visiting my father in the hospital almost every day this month has taken me away from Flickr and photography so far this month but decided that I needed to change the picture at the front of my photostream so here is a shot of one of the rooms in Casa Loma that I visited Dec. 30th, 2011.

One section of the upper floor of Casa Loma houses a museum exhibit for The Queen's Own Rifles and also provides insight into the role that Casa Loma played in the war years and the secret operations surrounding the manufacture of ASDIC sonar devices in the stables.

A mix of rain, sleet, snow and fog provided an interesting ambiance to photographing exterior scenes at Casa Loma a couple of weeks ago but inside it was nice and warm.
