Sitting Ruby
Ruby is a Gloucestershire Old Spots pig who was rescued from a "pastured pig" operation. The female pigs are allowed outdoor access and freedom to roam. The farm even has tours.
However, the small or sickly piglets are killed the same way as on large farms - by slamming the piglet repeatedly against concrete until they die.
A visitor to the farm offered to take the piglet off the farm's hands and they agreed. She nursed little Ruby back to health and now Ruby lives at Animal Place. She will be spayed and then introduced to the other pigs. She is one cute piglet!!

It's obvious Ruby loves to bathe. It is well known by us pig lovers, that pigs are very clean animals. They just like to uproot things with their snout and they love making "hay beds"!
