Ireland Trip (2007)

In June 2007, our family went to Ireland for 9 days. We first went to London for a few days and then headed to Ireland.

We landed in Dublin, stayed one night in Kilkenny, three nights in Dingle, two nights in Doolin, and two nights in Dublin.

We LOVED Ireland and will go back. We especially loved Dingle and regretted not staying longer. Heather and I plan to retire in Dingle and open a kayak adventure business (after the Plaxo IPO). Doolin and Dublin were letdowns in comparison to Dingle and the Ring of Dingle.

It was great to finally go the home of my ancestors and experience the Irish. I've always felt very Irish inside--even though I find that type of thinking archaic and out-dated--and enjoyed the experience deeply. Ireland and the Irish people are a strange mix of happy and sad.

And of course, the magic of Ireland is found in the people and the "trad" Irish music played in pubs across the land at 9:30pm every night. It is a truly magical place.
