I grew up here & I've never, ever heard a native say 'Miller' when referring to the former airport. Never.

I've wondered about that. Jim Walker and the Catellus people religiously pronounce it "Miller". Maybe it was an aviation thing? Or a thing among neighbors of the airport but not people in other parts of town? Dunno.

How are you on other Austin shibboleths? To wit:

Manchaca = man chack
Pedernales = Purd 'N Alice
New Braunfels = New Brawnsfell

And my favorite

Burnett = It's Burn It, durn it
