f_kodak_gift by ricksoloway.
This is the lovely and hard to find Gift Kodak No. 1A that was made for only one year 1930-31. The Bauhaus-like motif is repeated on the camera and the enamel and metal inlay on the wooden box. While this camera was produced during Walter Dorwin Teague's tenure at Kodak as a consultant/designer, we have not been able to locate drawings or signed designs to confirm this camera as one of his. He definitely did design the shutter cover around the lens. Very hard to find, and very pricey.

What a gorgeous camera. They sure don't make 'em like this anymore.

Do me a favor and tell your friend with the disposable income to consider my bank account their trash can! :o)

Then again, I suppose that it is possible to stumble upon one of these at a garage sale or flea market. It could happen.

My wife bought one of those in a garage sale in Santa Barbara, CA, 6 or 7 years ago for $20 (with the cardboard box). I understand it is worth much more...

Your wife did well. Tell her she can double her money and sell it to me for $40. Ha ha ha. If the outfit is complete with wooden box undamaged and outer cardboard box, and camera, should be worth several hundred dollars.
