Lychee?!?!?! Bring some up!!! I really like that there are actually lavender flowers in the macaroon. Makes for a more interesting picture! Nice shot.

Is Jin Patisserie as good as RJ?

speedM  Pro User  says:

bon, Jin is different. more of a tea/patisserie/garden place. there isn't much of a display like RJ's. the macarons are good, along with the afternoon tea set i got. haven't tried that many of their cakes so its hard to compare with RJ.

i prefer lavender in my soap than in my food, but the colour is so intoxicating and the photograph so alluring that you might just persuade me to try one.

I loved lavender and pistachio -- never tried lychee or passionfruit before either, very interesting flavors. Did the flavors come out clear?

Sixy,Beast, lavender may sound weird to some people but it's actually quite good in this macaron!

sarah, these type of macarons have no coconut in them, but i know what kind you're talking about. completely different in taste and texture.

mel, the flavors were distinctive. i can't wait to go back to another place, boule, which has good macarons as well to try more of their macarons. boule also has an awesome thyme gelato which is really good!

sppedM - I am not averse to experimenting with lavender in food - I just am not crazy about the results, usually.
Youhave to go to paris and check out the macarons at Pierre Herme!

Or you can come to Tokyo, there's a PH shop near my house ;o)

But if you do go to Paris, I think Laduree has better macarons, but that's just MHO =oP

I could easily bookmark all your photos as my favourite. You make every bowl of noodle, every scoop of ice cream and every piece of fruit look all so scrumptious.

I had lavender chocolates once. It was a very startling and confusing experience for my senses! My nose kept smelling lavender and thinking of soap & candles & lotions while my mouth sent signals of delicious chocolate. Weird! :)
