linguine pesto

alaskan smoked salmon
ground pistachios, I didn't have pine nuts!
linguine pesto by speedM.
with alaskan smoked salmon. with summer in full swing, i had plenty of basil in the yard begging to be used. hence, the inspiration for this dish.

Mmm, this looks devine! For a second I thought the salmon was sun dried tomato.

I was saying the same thing of Bon Bon: it's a real pity it isn't already in a lifestyle cool magazine. Are you thinking about it, speedM?
Man, this image is the best ever!

LynnInTokyo, that's funny but now that you mention it, the blurred pieces of salmon do look like sun-dried tomato.. maybe also because pesto and SDT go hand-in-hand :)

Hypnotic Aubergine, thanks so much.. that really is my dream, to one day be a published food photographer and/or write and photograph my own cookbook. dream.. dream.. :)

I'm troubled: if you saved these photos for high level stock/food agencies or magazines we'd all miss out on them but, on the other hand, publishing these amazing work here will keep you away from your dream. I mean: is it possible to have published personal works on paper even if you have previously given them out on the web?
I hope my english is clear :-/

Hypnotic Aubergine, I really haven't given the rights away by posting the images here.. I think :) besides, most high-level stock agencies require quite a lot of resolution for your work to be accepted (35mm slide film at the least, medium to large format is preferred.. or digital files from high end digital backs.) I consider these works as 'practice' anyways :-)

Thanks again for all the great comments everyone!

boychoyboy, nah, it's smoked salmon from a can, although really good stuff I bought when I was in Alaska.. not your fabulous home-smoked Copper River salmon :-)

Your food photos are wonderful! Lovely contrast between the wood and the white bowl.

Agree with the others on the fact that the image (and other) should be in a magazine. Maybe I could even help you... I'm a freelance journalist and write mostly for Norwagian lifestyle magazines.
