A small cannon sits atop a stone rampart, guarding the sandy bottom in the colonial-era harbor since reclaimed by the sea -- now about 5 meters underwater in the anchorage of the Caribbean island Nancy has dubbed "St. Elsewhere." Hiding down in a sponge, this Zebra Lionfish spread out his spines hoping to keep me away and in so doing, made a colorful fan pattern that attracted my lens.
