Short-eared Owl

Short-eared Owl by Rick Leche Photographer.
Please view LARGE? and check out the whole series...

You just never know when a photo-op is going to present itself. I was driving towards the 72nd Street dike in Ladner when I noticed this fellow flying very low along the ditch looking for a snack. He then sat on a post and for the next 20 minutes he sat and posed for me in so many ways it was unimaginable. I think I rattled off about 150 frames...these are the best of them. I sure hope that you enjoy them as much as I did taking them...It was a magical moment! :-)

What a fabulous series of photos. How lucky you were in a place where you could stop to take his photo.
