So, how did you shoot this? It's so clear!

My recipe:
1. Use a long lens. This was shot at
300mm which equates to 480mm when taking into
consideration my camera's sensor
magnification.
2. Ignore camera's light meter, shoot
manual - f/5.6, 1/800
3. Shoot in RAW format (not JPG) to allow
greater ability to work with the image.
4. In Photoshop's RAW plugin, set contrast
to Maximum and brightness to Minimum.
5. In Photoshop, set unsharp mask to 125%
I'm sure there are others out there who are
much more experienced at moon shots and they
have their own system, but this is what works
for me. Thanks!

I have tried this shot every full moon for
the last three months, but just can't get it
right! I see that you are using a fast
shutter speed - I continually manage to over
expose, hopefully I have learned a new trick
here! Nice one.

And we're obliged to love it nonetheless!

I've got non-telescopic equipment that
should do nicely in capturing the moon, but
damn-all if I can get the exposure right.
This is perfect.

little success. Hats off for a great shot.

Obligatory, possibly. Excellent detail,
absolutely! Crisp, clear capture of this huge
orb in a velvety black sky! Nice!

good details but is there a point?
Judging from many of the comments, it's
evident that capturing a shot of the moon
presents a challenge in getting the exposure
correct. The point for me is stepping up to
the challenge and seeing how I can do with
it. :)

leggnet - you can ask the same question about
every picture in the world. there is no point
here, there is passion. the pic is neat. pls
put it in my low light photography group.
